On June 3, USTR proposed new Section 301 tariffs replacing the expiring 10% temporary duty on July 24. China, Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia face an extra 12.5% TBR tariff atop existing AD (~22%), CVD (~19%) and 25% 301 duties, while Mexico, Indonesia and EU add 10%. Comments close July 6, hearing July 7. Rubber is exempt but finished truck tires are not, lifting relevant shipment costs accordingly.
