The World Container Index as of July 30 fell by 3% to around USD 4,255 per 40‑ft container, driven mainly by declines on the Trans‑Pacific and Asia‑Europe trade lanes. Another container index in early August remained approximately 97.5% higher than its level one year ago, indicating that we are seeing a correction from high rates rather than a return to a normal low‑price cycle.
